South Shore Health in Weymouth, MA is seeking a Per Diem Patient Access Coordinator to support the Emergency Department. You will help identify, register, and schedule patients, coordinate bed placement, and manage patient flow with sensitivity to diverse cultural needs.

Responsibilities include assisting with death documentation, coordinating with physicians and nursing leadership, and ensuring regulatory requirements are met. Per diem shifts include evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Competenze

• Minimum one year admitting experience.
• Strong telephone and interpersonal communication skills.
• Knowledge of medical insurance.
• Computer experience required.

• Act as the initial point of contact for patients entering the health system.
• Identify, register, and schedule patients in the EHR with accuracy (98%).
• Coordinate bed placement with care teams and monitor bed occupancy.
• Handle death processes and coordinate with appropriate authorities and funeral directors.
• Support scheduling, registration, and regulatory compliance across the department.
• Assist with patient flow, service downtimes, and emergency department processes.
