Job summary

HopeHealth is seeking an experienced Palliative Nurse Practitioner (NP) to provide inpatient and community-based care through HopeHealth Hospice & Palliative Care in Providence, RI.

This per-diem role requires a minimum of two weekend shifts per month, with flexibility to cover weekday at partner hospitals. The ideal candidate will have advanced training in palliative care, be licensed as an RN/NP in RI and MA, and demonstrate strong communication with patients and families.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Nursing or Doctorate in Nursing.
• RI/MA RN license required.
• RI/MA Nurse Practitioner license required.
• Prescriptive authority license and DEA license required or in process.

Responsibilities

• New consults and follow-up consults for seriously ill adults in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Perform pain assessments and pain management recommendations.
• Assess and manage non-pain symptoms (nausea, fatigue, dyspnea, anxiety).
• Collaborate with treating physicians to formulate prognosis and goals of care.
• Provide counseling and coordinate care with patients, families, and facilities.
