Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner for per diem coverage in the Orthopedics division at New England Baptist Hospital. You will provide consultative medical support for orthopedic and surgical patients, perform initial consultations on high-risk post-operative patients, and participate in daily rounds and discharge planning with the care team.

The role requires a Master’s degree, MA licensure, NCCPA or AANP/ANP certification, 2–4 years acute inpatient

Qualifications

• Graduates of PA or NP programs with proper certification
• Current MA license to practice
• NCCPA or AANP/ANP certification required
• 2–4 years of acute care inpatient experience preferred
• Current DEA license and BLS/ACLS per AHA requirements

Responsibilities

• Assist Orthopedic Surgeons in surgery and follow OR policies
• Coordinate clinical support for NEBH Orthopedic Surgeons
• Rounds on Orthopedic patients and perform H&Ps as needed
• Write prescriptions within license parameters and order tests
• Communicate care plans to primary physicians and care teams
• Maintain accurate medical records and discharge documentation
