Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a per diem Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to support orthopedic and surgical patients in Boston, MA. The role requires acute care inpatient experience and collaboration with hospitalist teams to coordinate care.

Responsibilities include initial consultations for high-risk post-operative patients, daily rounds, medication management, documentation, and discharge planning with case managers.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PA or NP program.
• Current licensure to practice in the Commonwealth of MA.
• Certification by NCCPA or as an Adult/Family Nurse Practitioner.
• 2–4 years of acute care inpatient experience preferred.
• Current DEA license; BLS and ACLS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Assists Orthopedic Surgeons in surgery and follows OR policies.
• Coordinate clinical support for NEBH Orthopedic Surgeons: rounds, histories and physicals, orders and prescriptions.
• Communicate plan of care with primary physician and coordinate discharge with case manager.
• Educate patients and families; participate in education and research programs.
• Maintain accurate medical records and participate in safety and quality initiatives.
