Job summary

Shields Health is seeking a per diem Registered Nurse to provide general nursing care and leadership in the ambulatory surgery setting. You will collaborate with physicians and a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, and deliver comprehensive peri-operative care for patients of all ages.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years education at an accredited School of Nursing is required for RN licensure eligibility.
• Ambulatory Surgery/Outpatient OR nursing experience preferred.
• Current AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers is required; ACLS within one year of hire; PALS preferred or within six months.

Responsibilities

• Provide general nursing care and leadership in collaboration with physicians and multidisciplinary caregivers.
• Perform peri-operative nursing assessments and implement the care plan.
• Communicate care plans and progress to patients, families, and caregivers; document thoroughly.
• Delegate tasks to support personnel according to their knowledge and scope.
• Promote infection control, patient safety, and quality of care; ensure equipment and supplies are ready.
• Cross-train/float as needed and assist with staffing to meet department needs.
