Job summary

Shields is seeking an Operating Room Registered Nurse for a per diem role in North Chelmsford, MA. The position requires daytime availability Mon-Fri and involves providing comprehensive peri-operative nursing care, collaborating with physicians and a multidisciplinary team.

Qualified candidates will have at least two years of nursing education, an active MA RN license, 1 year of OR/ambulatory surgery experience, and BLS (ACLS within 1 year).

Qualifications

• Completion of a minimum of two years education at an accredited School of Nursing to be eligible for licensure as an RN.
• Massachusetts nursing license in good standing is required.
• Minimum of one year in Ambulatory Surgery, Outpatient Surgery, or OR nursing.

Responsibilities

• Promote and maintain a positive organizational culture within the OR.
• Provide direct and indirect nursing care using the nursing process.
• Perform peri-operative assessments and ensure patient safety and comfort.
• Coordinate communication among caregivers and keep patient/family informed of progress.
• Assist with setting up the OR and equipment, maintain supply inventory, and document care.
