Job summary

Northern Nevada Medical Center in Sparks, NV seeks a per diem Surgical/Scrub Tech to support the Surgery Unit. The role includes instrument cleaning, sterilization, monitoring PAR levels, and participating in performance improvement activities.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, Surgical Technician certification within 6 months or proven hospital experience, current BLS, and English communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School diploma or equivalent.
• Surgical Technician Certification required within 6 months of hire or verifiable hospital surgical tech experience prior to 1/1/2018.
• Current BLS Certification.
• Main OR experience preferred.
• Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Interacts professionally with patients and family.
• Provides patient explanations and verbal reassurance, as necessary.
• Notifies appropriate licensed personnel when patient complains of pain.
• Adapts procedures to meet individual needs of infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients for treatment.
