Job summary

UCI Health in Irvine, CA seeks an Operating Room Nurse to design, coordinate and deliver perioperative patient care. The role may be scrub or circulating, and requires floating to all UCI Health locations.

Must have BSN; six months of acute-care perioperative experience; knowledge of aseptic technique, surgical instrumentation, infection control, and ability to scrub/circulate in most specialties. Shift flexibility, including evenings and weekends, is required.

Qualifications

• Six months of recent nursing experience in an acute-care perioperative environment.
• Knowledge of aseptic technique, surgical instrumentation, infection control, body mechanics and age-related acuity.
• All external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to scrub and circulate in most surgical specialties.

Responsibilities

• Use the nursing process to design and deliver perioperative patient care.
• Act as scrub or circulating nurse in various procedures.
• Serve as a role model to nursing students and new nurses on the unit.
• Float between UCI Health locations as required.
