Job summary

UCI Health is seeking an Operating Room Nurse to design, coordinate and deliver care for patients undergoing operative procedures. The nurse may act as scrub or circulating, and may float between UCI Health locations as needed.

The role includes acting as a role model to students and new nurses and additional patient care coordination as requested. Required six months of perioperative acute-care nursing experience, knowledge of aseptic technique and equipment, and an RN license in California

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
• Minimum six months recent perioperative acute-care nursing experience.
• Knowledge of aseptic technique, surgical instrumentation and infection control.
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
• RN license in California and Basic Life Support certification.

Responsibilities

• Float to all UCI Health locations as needed.
• Scrub or circulating nurse in diverse procedures.
• Design, coordinate and deliver patient care for operative cases.
• Serve as role model to nursing students and new nurses.
• Act as Patient Care Coordinator as requested.
