Job summary

UCI Health in California is seeking an Operating Room Nurse to design, coordinate, and deliver patient care for operative procedures. You may scrub or circulate and act as a Pt. Care Coordinator, with mandatory float between UCI Health locations.

Requirements include a BSN and at least six months of acute-care perioperative nursing experience, plus ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Strong aseptic technique and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of six months recent nursing experience working in an acute-care perioperative environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of aseptic technique, surgical instrumentation and equipment, and practice of infection control techniques, body mechanics and age related acuity levels.
• All external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to scrub and circulate in most surgical specialties

Responsibilities

• The Operating Room Nurse uses the nursing process to design, coordinate, and deliver patient care that meets the identified needs of patients having operative procedures.
• May act as scrub or circulating nurse in various procedures.
• Acts as a Pt. Care Coordinator as requested.
• Required to float between all UCI Health locations.
