Job summary

Holy Cross Health in Germantown is seeking a part-time, day-shift Registered Nurse - Surgery. The role involves surgical nursing care, pre-operative assessments, and collaboration with the surgical team.

The OR RN will scrub and circulate, monitor vitals, and educate patients and families within a 10-hour day schedule. Experience with minimally invasive robotic surgery and commitment to quality care are valued.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program; basic professional nursing degree (with requirement to obtain a BSN/MSN within a specific time frame)
• Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• At least 1 year of nursing experience in a surgical setting (scrubbing and circulating)

Responsibilities

• Using the Quality Caring Model, the Operating Room Nurse (OR RN) demonstrates expertise in planning and managing care in the operating room
• Plan and deliver patient care in collaboration with the surgical team
• Perform pre-operative assessments, including histories and examinations
• Perform scrub functions during procedures and circulating functions including monitoring and communication
• Monitor patients' vital signs and ensure safety and comfort throughout the surgical process
• Educate patients and family and plan continuum of care
