Job summary

Trinity Health seeks an experienced Registered Nurse - Surgery for a day shift in Germantown, MD, for part-time/per diem operating room duties. The OR nurse applies the nursing process to plan and manage care, collaborates with the surgical team, and delivers patient-centered care from pre-operative to post-operative stages.

Requirements include RN licensure in Maryland, BLS, and at least 1 year of surgical experience. BSN/MSN preferred. Competitive pay and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program with licensure to practice as RN.
• Current Maryland State Board of Nursing license or Compact State licensure.
• BLS certification through American Heart Association.
• At least 1 year of nursing experience in a surgical setting (scrub and circulate).

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-operative assessments including patient history review and physical exams.
• Scrub functions: instrument and supply handling during procedures.
• Circulating functions: monitor patient condition, document and communicate status.
• Monitor vital signs and ensure patient safety and comfort throughout surgery.
• Assist with specimen collection, processing and documentation.
• Educate patients and families and plan continuum of care.
