Job summary

UCI Health in Orange, CA is hiring a Nursing Assistant to support clinical staff by taking and recording vital signs, assisting patients with hygiene and elimination, and helping maintain a clean, safe unit. You will stock supplies, operate hospital equipment as directed, perform routine clerical tasks, and assist with other duties as assigned.

Applicants should be able to read, write, and speak English, have a BLS certification, and meet CNA/LVN eligibility or related nursing program

Qualifications

• Understanding of basic medical terminology.
• CNA certification not required for those hired before May 2010.
• Ability to work variable shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Able to read, write and speak English effectively.
• Eligible for CNA/LVN or enrolled in accredited nursing program with at least 1 clinical semester.
• Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively in a therapeutic way.
• Demonstrated patient care experience, preferably in an acute care setting.
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
