Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support professional nursing staff in patient care. The role includes taking vital signs, assisting with hygiene, and maintaining a clean unit environment within a busy hospital setting.

Responsibilities also cover stocking supplies, operating hospital equipment as directed, and performing clerical tasks as needed. English proficiency and BLS certification are required.

Qualifications

• Understanding of basic medical terminology.
• Must be able to work variable shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be able to read, write and speak effectively in English.
• Must be CNA or LVN or enrolled in accredited nursing program with completion of at least 1 clinical semester.
• Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively in a therapeutic way.
• Demonstrated patient care experience, preferably in an acute care setting.
• Current BLS certification upon hire (issued by the AHA).

Responsibilities

• Take and record vital signs.
• Assist patients with hygiene and elimination.
• Maintain a clean and safe unit environment.
• Stock unit supplies.
• Operate hospital equipment as directed.
• Perform routine clerical tasks.
• Assist with other related duties as assigned.
