Job summary

UCI Health, a major academic health system in California, is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support professional nursing staff in patient care. Primary duties include taking vital signs, helping with hygiene and elimination, and keeping the unit clean and safe.

You will also assist with stocking supplies and basic clerical tasks on the unit. The role requires basic medical terminology understanding, English proficiency, and a current BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Understanding of basic medical terminology.
• Must be able to read, write and speak effectively in English.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), or enrolled in accredited nursing program with at least 1 clinical semester.
• Current BLS certification with the American Heart Association.
• Ability to work variable shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Take and record vital signs.
• Assist patients with hygiene and elimination.
• Maintain a clean and safe unit environment.
• Stock unit supplies and operate hospital equipment as directed.
• Perform routine clerical tasks and assist with related duties.

Skills
