Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for per diem Level I nights at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, IL. The role requires 48 hours every 6 weeks, with 24 weekend hours, and night shifts 7pm–7:30am with holiday coverage.

You will assist physicians, deliver therapy across age groups, assess treatment methods, document activities, and educate patients and staff while complying with hospital policy and state licensure requirements.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• RRT or registry eligible status.
• Illinois licensure within six months of employment.
• Current CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• ACLS, NRP, and PALS within 24 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assists Physicians with Respiratory Therapy procedures as requested.
• Provide respiratory therapy to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients as ordered.
• Assess patients to determine the most suitable method of administering treatment.
• Document treatment, equipment maintenance and quality control activities and transcribe orders.
• Communicate treatment to patient and family clearly.
• Monitor patient response to therapy, with emphasis on pediatric and neonatal patients.
• Provide patient and staff education.
