Job summary

Endeavor Health's Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, IL is seeking a Respiratory Therapist - Per Diem Level 2 - Nights. The role offers per diem scheduling with 73-110 hours every 6 weeks and night shifts 7:00pm–7:30am, including weekend requirements.

You will assist physicians, provide respiratory therapy to neonatal through geriatric patients, assess patients, document treatments, and monitor responses.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program as determined by CoARC.
• License or registry eligible status as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or equivalent.
• Illinois licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner within six months of employment.
• Current CPR certification from American Heart Association.
• ACLS/NRP/PALS within 24 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with respiratory therapy procedures as requested.
• Deliver respiratory care to neonatal, pediatric, adult and geriatric patients as ordered.
• Assess patients to determine the most suitable method of treatment.
• Document treatments, equipment maintenance, and orders; transcribe verbal/phone orders.
• Communicate treatment plans clearly to patient and family.
• Monitor patient responses to therapy, especially neonates and pediatrics.
• Educate patients and staff on therapies and equipment.
