Job summary

Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, CA, is seeking a Mobility Technician to support nursing and therapy teams with patient transfers, ambulation, and safe movement. This per diem role emphasizes early mobility, patient safety, and education of staff on proper equipment use.

The ideal candidate will have a background in rehab support (PTA, Rehab Tech, EMT, or CNA) with current BLS, and a commitment to high-quality patient care and teamwork across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Graduate or certified in Physical Therapy Aide, Rehab Tech, EMT, or Nursing Assistant.
• Current BLS certification required (or obtained within 30 days of hire).
• Prior experience in patient care, rehabilitation, or therapy support preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support nursing and therapy teams in safely mobilizing patients, transfers, lifts, ambulation, and repositioning.
• Educate staff on proper use of mobility aids and safe movement techniques.
• Promote early mobility and align goals with individualized care plans.
• Document mobility activity and patient response in the EMR.
