Job summary

Lighthouse Behavioral Health Hospital is seeking a Mental Health Technician for per diem shifts to provide direct care and close supervision for patients with emotional and/or psychological disorders. You will document behavior and support treatment plans while responding to crises as needed.

Responsibilities include transporting patients to activities, maintaining safety and the therapeutic milieu, and collaborating with the treatment team to ensure individualized crisis plans and patient needs

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year related experience.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• CPI Certified.
• Must complete 5 day Hospital Orientation.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to work, meals, recreation, breaks and education activities; supervise as needed.
• Transport patients to medical appointments or other activities; maintain safety and security of the facility.
• De-escalate aggression; use active listening and positive reinforcement; support initial screenings by the Admissions Department.
• Assess and meet patients' needs for clothing, linens, and personal hygiene supplies; supervise hygiene tasks.
