Job summary

Lighthouse Behavioral Health Hospital is seeking a Mental Health Technician for per diem shifts. You will provide direct patient care, supervise activities, document behavior, and support treatment plans while ensuring safety and crisis intervention as needed.

Responsibilities include escorting patients to activities, transporting them to appointments, de‑escalating incidents, and ensuring basic needs such as clothing and hygiene are met. Per diem shifts and set hours are offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum 1 year related experience.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• CPI Certification preferred.
• Must complete (5) day Hospital Orientation.

Responsibilities

• Escort and supervise patients during work, meals, recreation, and education activities.
• Transport patients to appointments and activities; maintain safety and observe for volatile situations.
• De‑escalate aggression using counseling skills and maintain positive peer culture.
• Assess patient needs for clothing, linens and personal hygiene; supervise hygiene tasks.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

Minimum 1 year related experience

Valid Driver’s License

CPI Certified

Must complete Hospital Orientation
