Job summary

Lighthouse Behavioral Health Hospital seeks a full-time Mental Health Technician to provide direct care, supervise patients, and support treatment plans in a secure hospital setting in Conway, SC.

Responsibilities include escorting patients, transporting to appointments, and de-escalation using effective communication, while collaborating with treatment teams and ensuring patient needs are met.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's Degree, preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year related experience.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• CPI Certified.
• Must be able to complete (5) day Hospital Orientation.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to work, meals, recreation, and education activities.
• Transport patients to medical appointments and supervise safety.
• De-escalate aggression using counseling, active listening, and positive reinforcement.
• Provide clinical support for initial screenings and back up assessments when needed.
• Ensure patient needs for clothing, linens and personal hygiene are met.
