Job summary

PeaceHealth is seeking a Medical Assistant for a Per Diem/Relief position in Oregon. The role supports physicians and care teams in delivering patient care within MA scope of practice. The salary ranges from $25.62 to $34.58 per hour, depending on education, experience, and applicable agreements.

The position involves patient prep, room setup, injections, wound care, charting in EMR, scheduling, and collaboration with multiple departments to ensure smooth clinic operations.

Qualifications

• Accredited Medical Assistant program or MOA path required.
• Minimum 1 year experience in a medical office.
• National MA certification required per Oregon/Alaska rules (AAMA/AMT/NCCT/ NHA/ AMCA/AAH).
• Basic Life Support required on hire.
• Ability to protect patient privacy and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Proficient with computers and office equipment; familiarity with multi-line phones and billing preferred.
• Strong time management and interpersonal skills.
• Understanding of asepsis principles.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination and record history and vitals.
• Set up exam rooms and maintain supplies/equipment.
• Administer injections, dressings, wound care as ordered.
• Sterilize and prepare treatments; maintain equipment.
• Transport specimens as needed.
• Schedule tests and follow-up appointments.
• Maintain patient files and data entry in EMR.
• Provide phone screening to clinicians.
• Collaborate with multiple departments for smooth clinic operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
