Job summary

Planned Parenthood North Central States in Brooklyn Park, MN is seeking a Per diem Medical Assistant (MA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to ensure high-quality reproductive health services. This is an hourly, non-exempt position that supports routine clinic duties under supervision.

The role involves patient history review, labs, contraceptive supplies, and education; with inventory support and clinician assistance as needed. Per diem hours (32/month) and standard clinic times are provided.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assisting diploma program or Associate degree in Medical Assisting, or current EMT/Paramedic licensure, or 6+ months experience as a Health Center Associate II at PPNCS.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) Certificate for healthcare providers.
• High School diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Interview and screen patients, take patient history, document in EMR, prepare patients for examinations, and monitor vital signs.
• Perform routine laboratory tests including venipuncture and communicate results with follow-up as needed.
• Provide factual patient education including contraception options and abortion information as appropriate.
• Assist clinicians and support inventory management and clinic operations.
• Supervise nursing functions as delegated by Health Center Manager or clinician/physician.
• Support onboarding and cross-training of staff and ensure HIPAA compliance.
