Job summary

Planned Parenthood North Central States in Moorhead, MN seeks a per diem Medical Assistant (MA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). This hourly, non-exempt role supports a reproductive health program under the Health Center Manager, providing patient history intake, labs, contraceptive care, and education.

Responsibilities include preparing patients for examinations, venipuncture, assisting clinicians, maintaining records, inventories, and following HIPAA. Clinic hours are Mon-Fri, 9:00-5:00.

Qualifications

• MA: Completion of a Medical Assisting diploma program, or an Associate degree in Medical Assisting, or current EMT/Paramedic licensure, or 6+ months experience as a Health Center Associate II at PPNCS.
• MA: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) Certificate for healthcare providers.
• MA: High School diploma or equivalent.
• LPN: Active LPN License in Minnesota.
• LPN: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) Certificate for healthcare providers.

Responsibilities

• Interview and screen patients, document in EMR, prepare for examinations and procedures.
• Perform routine labs including venipuncture and communicate results.
• Provide unbiased contraception education and information on all options.
• Refer patients per protocol and ensure care plan documentation.
• Assist clinicians during procedures and support clinic operations.
• Maintain inventory and follow HIPAA and safety policies.

Education

Medical Assisting diploma or Associate degree in Medical Assisting

EMT/Paramedic licensure

Current BLS (Basic Life Support) Certificate

Active LPN license in Minnesota
