Job summary

Planned Parenthood North Central States in Duluth, MN is seeking a Per diem Medical Assistant (MA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). The role is per diem, 32 hours per month, with clinic hours Mon/Wed/Fri 9:00-5:00 and Tue/Thu 10:00-6:00. Pay ranges from $20-$25/hr for MA and $24-$28/hr for LPN, based on experience.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assisting diploma program, or Associate degree in Medical Assisting, or current EMT/Paramedic licensure, or 6+ months experience as a Health Center Associate II at PPNCS.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) Certificate for healthcare providers
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Active LPN License in Minnesota
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) Certificate for healthcare providers

Responsibilities

• Interview and screen patients, perform patient history review, document in electronic medical record, prepare patients for examinations/procedures.
• Assess, address or triage patient complaints. Monitor patient vital signs.
• Perform routine laboratory tests including venipuncture. Communicate lab test results. Ensure follow-up of lab reports.
• Provide factual patient education on FDA approved birth control methods and unbiased information on options available.
• Refer patients per protocol and ensure complete documentation of care plan.
• Support clinic operations and inventory control; assist clinicians as needed.
