Job summary

Planned Parenthood North Central States (PPNCS) seeks a Per Diem Medical Assistant (MA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Duluth, MN. The role supports reproductive health services with patient care, labs, and contraceptive education, working per diem at our Duluth clinic.

The position offers competitive hourly pay ($20–$25 for MA, $24–$28 for LPN) and per-diem scheduling (32 hours/month). Eligible for PTO, ESST, and 403(b) retirement plan. Unionized with SEIU guidance.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assisting diploma program, or Associate degree in Medical Assisting, or current EMT/Paramedic licensure, or 6+ months experience as a Health Center Associate II at PPNCS.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) Certificate for healthcare providers
• High School diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Interview and screen patients, conduct patient history review, document in electronic medical record, prepare patients for examinations/procedures.
• Assess, address or triage patient complaints. Monitor patient vital signs.
• Perform routine laboratory tests including venipuncture. Communicate lab test results. Ensure follow-up of lab reports.
