Job summary

City of San Mateo is seeking Per Diem Library Aide II for the San Mateo Public Library. Responsibilities include shelving, checking materials in/out, assisting patrons at desks and self-checkouts, and handling interlibrary loan tasks across Main, Marina, and Hillsdale locations.

Positions are part-time with the potential for limited benefits after meeting hours. Starting wage is $20.46 per hour, with varied schedule options to cover multiple library hours.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 15 years of age or older; work permit if under 18.
• Knowledge of spoken and written English.
• Must successfully complete an examination on correct shelving procedures.

Responsibilities

• Shelving and retrieval of library materials.
• Check-in and check-out of library materials.
• Assist patrons at public desks and self-checkouts.
• Process daily newspapers and holds.
• Process interlibrary loan materials (Link+).
• End processing duties and other duties as assigned.
