The role may involve lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, and standing for long periods. Evening and weekend shifts may be required; opportunities for advancement to higher library assistant ranks exist.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 15 1/2 years old.
• If under 18, work permit required before start date.
• Applicants who are 17 with high school graduation or CHSPE/GED are not required to have a work permit.

Responsabilités

• Perform routine clerical tasks using a computer; sort, shelve books and library materials; lift/carry items weighing up to 50 pounds; check books in/out to the public; file records and documents; make simple book repairs; collect fines; retrieve materials for patrons; answer routine questions; assist the public and library staff; and perform other duties as assigned.
