Job summary

The City of Richmond is seeking a Part-Time Library Aide to support the Richmond Public Library system across Bayview, West Side, and the Temporary Auditorium locations, including the bookmobile. The role involves shelving, circulation desk assistance, and light clerical tasks, with the annual COLA adjustment and City-paid sick leave.

Files and materials will be checked in/out, fines collected, and routine data entry performed under close supervision.

Qualifications

• Experience in a library is desired but not required.
• Must be able to travel to various locations within Richmond and have a valid California driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Assist Circulation Desk by checking materials in and out, registering patrons, sorting books, and collecting fines.
• Perform routine computer data entry and assist staff with special assignments.
• Shelf and return books and media to assigned areas.
• Perform messenger and delivery duties on foot or by City vehicle.
• Pack and unpack books as needed.
