Job summary

Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) is seeking a per diem Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our frontline emergency team in Torrance, CA. You’ll handle triage, anesthesia, monitoring, CPR, and critical care nursing, delivering gold standard care for pets and supporting their parents.

Requirements include a AVMA-accredited credential, CVT/RVT/LVT/LVMT in-state, 1+ year ER experience, and ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Credentialed veterinary technician (CVT/RVT/LVT/LVMT) in the applicable state is required; VTS is a plus.
• 1+ year of experience in veterinary technician roles, with emergency or specialty medicine preferred.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with practice management software and EMR.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care from triage through discharge in emergency settings.
• Deliver treatments, monitoring, and emotional support for patients and their owners.
• Assist with anesthesia, diagnostics, and advanced procedures.
• Collaborate with doctors to plan and execute care.
• Maintain calm, efficient operations in a busy ER environment.
