Job summary

VEG is seeking a per diem Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician in California. You will work on the front lines of emergency care, handling triage, treatments, anesthesia, and critical monitoring while supporting doctors and families in stressful moments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or higher in veterinary technology preferred
• Credentialed as a veterinary technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the state where VEG practice is located
• 1+ years in veterinary technician role; emergency or specialty experience preferred
• Familiar with practice management software and EMR systems
• Excellent communication and ability to stay calm under pressure

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care, treatments, and emotional support from triage to discharge
• Handle triage, treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing
• Assist with diagnostics, imaging, sample collection, and tube placement
• Collaborate with doctors and team to deliver high-quality, compassionate care
• Support maintaining a clean, efficient emergency department environment
