Job summary

Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) seeks a per diem Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our 24/7 emergency teams. You’ll work on the front lines, assisting doctors, triaging cases, and delivering gold-standard care for pets and their families.

You will handle anesthesia, monitoring, diagnostics, and intensive nursing duties, contributing to a compassionate, fast-paced ER environment. Per diem shifts offer flexible scheduling and growth opportunities within a nationwide VEG network.

Qualifications

• Credentialed veterinary technician (CVT/RVT/LV T/LVMT) in the practice state is required.
• VTS in ECC, internal medicine or anesthesia/analgesia is a plus and may affect compensation.
• 1+ year of experience as a veterinary technician; emergency or specialty medicine preferred.
• Basic computer skills and EMR familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Treat every patient and person with empathy and teamwork from triage to discharge.
• Provide nursing care, treatments, and emotional support during critical moments.
• Administer meds, monitor patients, and assist with diagnostics and anesthesia.
• Communicate clearly with team to shape plans and ensure smooth care flow.
• Perform CPR when needed and support high standards of emergency care.
• Handle diagnostics, imaging, sample collection, and line placements.
