Job summary

Veterinary Emergency Group in Seattle, WA is seeking a per diem Emergency Veterinary Assistant to join the ER team. You’ll triage patients, support treatments, and assist veterinarians and technicians in fast-paced cases.

You’ll gain hands-on experience, learn CPR, and grow toward credentialed technician pathways through guided training and mentorship. Evening/nights, weekends, and holidays may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Enrolled in AVMA-accredited vet tech program a plus.
• 1+ year veterinary assistant experience (emergency or specialty bonus).
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of management software/EMR.

Responsibilities

• Greet and triage patients, guiding them to care.
• Assist with treatments, nursing care, and diagnostics.
• Support anesthesia and sedation setups with clinicians.
• Set up IV fluids, blood products, and meds administration.
• Support both outpatient and inpatient care and rounds.
