Job summary

Veterinary Emergency Group The PC is seeking a per diem Emergency Veterinary Assistant to support the team from day one, assisting with triage, treatments, and patient care in a fast-paced ER setting.

You will learn and grow with credentialed technicians and veterinarians, with pathways toward anesthesia support, ultrasound, and catheterization through guided training. Night, weekend, and holiday availability is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Enrolled in AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program a plus.
• 1+ years in a veterinary assistant role (emergency or specialty experience is a bonus!)
• Good stamina for long shifts in a busy ER.
• Availability to work nights, weekends and holidays on a rotating basis.

Responsibilities

• Be the first warm welcome and triage incoming patients.
• Assist with treatments, nursing care, and diagnostics.
• Work with credentialed technicians and veterinarians during anesthesia and sedation.
• Manage IV fluids, blood transfusions, and medication administration.
• Support care in outpatient or inpatient settings and during rounds.
• Join rounds to maintain continuity of care and clinical picture.
