Job summary

VEG is seeking a per diem Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our front-line emergency care team. You will handle cases from triage through discharge, delivering nursing care, anesthesia support, diagnostics, and critical care nursing with empathy for clients and pets.

You should be CVT/RVT/LVT/LVMT certified in the state, with 1+ year of experience, strong communication, and the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in veterinary technology preferred.
• Credentialed veterinary technician in the practice state (CVT/RVT/LVT/LVMT).
• 1+ year of veterinary technician experience; emergency or specialty preferred.
• Strong communication and ability to work calmly under pressure.
• Basic computer skills and EMR/practice software proficiency.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays; physically able to lift up to 25 kg, with assistance up to 40 kg.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care, treatments, and emotional support from triage to discharge.
• Assist in anesthesia, monitoring, diagnostics, and critical care nursing.
• Deliver gold-standard care while communicating as a teammate and leader.
• Utilize advanced techniques like IVs, CRIs, transfusions, and imaging support.
• Perform CPR when needed and participate in emergency protocols.
• Coordinate care with doctors and the team to maintain smooth patient flow.
