Job summary

Bergen New Bridge Medical Center in Paramus, NJ is seeking an Emergency Department Business Associate for a part-time, on-site role. You will handle admissions and patient registration, verify insurance details, and enter information into the EMR while ensuring HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• 2+ years work experience in customer service or related field.
• Proficient knowledge of medical terminology, billing practices and coding.
• Proficient computer skills; MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Arrange efficient admission of patients presenting to ED and collect required registration data.
• Verify insurance benefits and collect necessary documents for records.
• Input information into EMR and prepare charts for the ED.
• Communicate policies, privacy rights, and hospital procedures to patients.
• Coordinate admissions, discharges, and transfers as needed.
• Act as unit leader in absence of ED management for escalated concerns.
