Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a per diem Day shift RN for the Medical-Surgical Unit-II at Jersey City Medical Center. The role emphasizes patient-centered care, clinical excellence, and collaborative teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

You will assess patients, administer treatments, educate families, and document in EPIC while working with physicians and a supportive team. Per diem shifts ensure flexible scheduling and professional growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license in good standing.
• BLS certification required.
• BSN strongly preferred; prior patient care experience valued.
• Per diem day schedule; minimum 4 shifts per month; holidays/weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize clinical changes.
• Administer safe, evidence-based medications and hands-on care.
• Partner with physicians and providers for timely, coordinated care decisions.
• Provide clear education to patients and families for next steps.
• Document accurately and timely in the EMR to ensure continuity of care.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds to support teamwork and transitions.
• Support ongoing professional growth through education and clinical ladder opportunities.
