Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health's Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville, NJ is seeking a Per Diem Registered Nurse (RN) for the Medical Unit-II. The RN will work day shifts on an hourly wage, typically 7:00 am–7:30 pm, with every other weekend and holidays required.

Per Diem status means flexible scheduling and on-call availability to support patient care needs. The role emphasizes comprehensive patient assessments, safe direct care, collaboration with physicians, patient education, and meticulous EMR

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey Registered Nurse license or Multistate with NJ endorsement.
• BO Health Association BLS certification current; ACLS within 6 months of hire.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred; school of nursing accreditation preferred.
• Medical/Surgical or Telemetry experience preferred; EMR (EPIC) experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize subtle clinical changes, intervening early.
• Provide safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands-on care.
• Partner with physicians and providers to support timely, well-coordinated care decisions.
• Educate patients and families with clarity and compassion for next steps.
• Document accurately in the electronic medical record for continuity and safety.
• Contribute to interdisciplinary rounds and improve communication across teams.
• Work in a collaborative, accountable team environment with ongoing professional growth.
• Pursue continuing education and clinical ladder opportunities for career progression.
