Job summary

Apple Rehab in Berlin, CT is seeking a Per Diem Cook Supervisor to supervise dietary staff, follow established policies, and assist the Dietary Manager. The role includes preparing meals per residents' diet orders and supporting forecast and menu planning.

Responsibilities include input on purchasing, storage of food and equipment, and ensuring a quality product within budget using kitchen equipment. Must lift up to 50 lbs and have Serv Safe Manager certification.

Qualifications

• Must hold Serv Safe Manager certification.
• Ability to unload and stock groceries and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to read, write and understand English, perform simple math and record data.
• Attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Ability to supervise and instruct others.
• Experience in hospital or long-term care preferred.
• Demonstrates cooperation and teamwork.
• Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
• Patient, tactful, enthusiastic with residents and their support networks.
• Ability to communicate professionally with residents, staff and families.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and monitors dietary department personnel as required.
• Ensures policies and procedures are followed.
• Contributes to performance evaluations of subordinates.
• Prepares and serves meals according to residents' diet orders.
• Works with Dietary Manager on forecasting needs and recipe development.
• Assists with purchasing and storage of food and equipment.
• Ensures dishes are aesthetically pleasing and within budget.
• Responds to residents' requests on short notice.
• Assists with planning and preparing for facility events.
