Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital-Long Island is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Technologist for per diem coverage. The successful candidate will perform routine and complex laboratory tests, follow approved policies, and ensure quality control.

You will review patient results, report findings to EMR, and assist in training residents and new technologists as needed. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, NYSDOH licensure, and a NYS license are required.

Qualifications

• NYSDOH licensed as a Certified Clinical Laboratory Technologist.
• Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology or in biology/chemistry/physical sciences from an accredited program.
• One year of experience in a clinical laboratory; internship acceptable.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills; NYS license required.

Responsibilities

• Performs all routine and complex laboratory procedures including specimen processing and testing.
• Record results accurately and report them per policy; ensure quality control and instrument maintenance.
• Review patient results, correlate with history, and report to EMR for medical staff.
• Train and mentor residents and new technologists as directed by senior staff.
• Maintain supplies and contribute to proficiency assessments as needed.
