Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital-Suffolk is seeking a Laboratory Technologist - Hematology for per diem, variable day shifts in Clinical Labs-Hematology. You will perform a range of hematology tests under supervision, ensure accurate results, and participate in quality control and instrument maintenance.

The role requires a BS in Medical Technology or related field with internship or supervised clinical lab experience, plus licensure eligibility.

Qualifications

• BS in Medical Technology with a clinical internship or BS in a related discipline with one year supervised clinical laboratory experience.
• NYS Education Department Clinical Laboratory Technologist License or Eligible.
• Professional accreditation preferred.
• Analytical skills necessary to analyze data and perform calculations.
• Basic knowledge of computer fundamentals and laboratory information systems.

Responsibilities

• Performs clinical laboratory tests in Hematology under supervision.
• Analyzes and interprets test results and ensures accuracy.
• Repeats tests as necessary and notifies appropriate personnel.
• Performs preventive maintenance on schedule and troubleshoots instrumentation.
• Maintains QC documentation and corrective actions.

Education

BS in Medical Technology with clinical internship or BS in a related discipline with one year supervised clinical laboratory experience

NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist License or Eligible
