Job summary

Tufts Medical Center, Inc. offers a per diem Clinical Care Technician opportunity for nursing students seeking hands-on clinical experience while continuing their nursing education.

You will work with experienced nursing staff, gain exposure to inpatient settings, and further develop patient care skills under supervision. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• BLS Certification required; additional departmental certifications may be required.
• Preferred qualifications include CNA/MA certification and nursing fundamentals coursework.

Responsibilities

• Assists professional registered nurses in direct patient care and safety.
• Provides activities of daily living support and observes patient conditions.
• Greets patients and families, responds to requests, and collaborates with the nurse.
• Collects and communicates patient data to the nurse in a timely manner.
• Prepares rooms for admission/transfer/discharge and ensures equipment readiness.
• Transports patients when needed and monitors sitter guidelines for safety.
• Provides comfort measures and supports patient mobility as assigned.
• Sets up for procedures and maintains cleanliness of equipment.
• Performs basic specimen collection/testing and lab prep as directed.
• Maintains biomedical equipment and reports malfunctions.
• Cleans wounds and assists with venous access and EKGs as trained.
• Documents admissions, transfers, and discharges as required.
• Responds to call lights and performs hourly rounding per guidelines.
