Job summary

Tufts Medical Center offers a per diem Clinical Care Technician program for nursing students to gain hands-on clinical experience while continuing their education. Participants will work with experienced nurses, gain exposure to inpatient settings, and may receive mentorship and opportunities for shadowing and development.

The role emphasizes assisting in direct patient care under supervision, completing competency-based skills, and supporting patient safety and comfort on designated units.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
• CNA or MA certification preferred.
• Completion of Nursing Fundamentals in an accredited Nursing program.
• One year of related experience as NA/PCA/CCT/PCT.
• Acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist the professional registered nurse in the functional care of patients, ensuring efficient and patient-centered care.
• Provide or assist patients with activities of daily living safely and respectfully.
• Greet patients and respond to requests, seeking nurse supervision as needed.
• Collect, record, and communicate patient data to the assigned nurse.
• Prepare rooms for admission/transfer/discharge and ensure equipment is ready.
• Transport patients and act as a sitter per guidelines to ensure patient safety.
• Provide comfort measures and promote patient activity as assigned.
• Set up for procedures and maintain standard precautions.
