Job summary

Tufts Medical Center is offering a per diem Clinical Care Technician role for nursing students to gain hands-on clinical experience while continuing their nursing education. You will work alongside experienced nursing professionals, gain exposure to inpatient settings, and have opportunities for clinical shadowing, mentorship, and professional development.

This role focuses on providing professional and nonprofessional nursing care under supervision, with potential for future Nurse Residency

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• BLS Certification.
• Certifications relevant to the department and type of care being provided may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assists the professional registered nurse in patient care and communicates findings to the nurse.
• Provides activities of daily living assistance safely and respectfully.
• Greets patients and families, responds to requests promptly.
• Records and communicates patient data to the nurse.
• Prepares rooms for admission/transfer/discharge.
• Transports patients as needed and acts as a sitter.
• Provides comfort measures and assists with mobility.
• Sets up procedures as directed by nursing/medical staff.
• Cleans and discards used equipment per procedures.
• Collects specimens and prepares for lab testing.
• Maintains biomedical equipment and reports malfunctions.
• Cleans wounds and applies DSD after assessment.
• Performs 12-lead EKG.
• Connects monitoring equipment to patients.
• Cares for patient belongings and completes belongings list.
• Documents admissions/transfers/discharges as requested.
• Answers call lights and conducts hourly rounds.
