Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
• CNA or MA preferred.
• Completion of Nursing Fundamentals in an accredited Nursing program.
• One year of related experience as a Nursing Assistant, Patient Care Assistant, Critical Care Tech, or Patient Care Tech.
• Acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist the professional RN in the functional care of patients, ensuring patient-centered care.
• Provide assistance with activities of daily living and patient care procedures.
• Greet patients and families, respond to requests, and seek nurse supervision when needed.
• Collect, record, and communicate patient clinical data to the assigned nurse.
• Prepare rooms for admissions, transfers, and discharges with standardized equipment.
• Transport patients as needed, act as a sitter under guidelines to ensure patient safety.
• Provide comfort measures and assist with mobility and ROM exercises as assigned.
• Set up procedures and assist with equipment and specimen collection per protocol.
• Maintain and troubleshoot biomedical equipment; report malfunctions to Medical Engineering.
