Job summary

Burger King - 2838 - Cordelia in Fairfield, CA seeks a People & Risk Business Partner to bridge strategic HR with hands-on workers' compensation, safety, and claims management across stores in the territory.

You will consult leadership, manage talent initiatives, investigations, and learning programs while traveling up to 50% to assess risk and ensure compliance with upper management goals.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience in an HR role as a manager, generalist, or business partner.
• At least 1 year of experience handling workers' compensation or general liability and property claims.
• Reliable vehicle with a car allowance included in compensation.

Responsibilities

• Work with company and store-level management to determine current HR, safety, and risk needs and provide solutions.
• Collaborate with Operations to implement HR, safety, and risk goals set by upper management.
• Create strategic plans to improve the relationship between leadership and employees.
• Develop and maintain strategic talent plans, and deliver training to reduce injuries, security issues, property damage, and risk.
• Conduct development meetings with managers.
• Facilitate Employee Relations investigations and coordinate with store operations to investigate incidents.
• Participate in candidate screening and interviewing to align hires with management goals.
• Manage learning strategy including succession planning, coaching, performance management, and development of learning programs.
• Investigate and administer workers' comp, GL, and property claims including required forms.
• Liaise between injured workers, management, claims administrator, and legal counsel regarding claim status and resolution.
• Prepare and file Cal/OSHA 300 reports and related documents; assist with inspections or complaints.
• Stay current on HR and risk trends to develop best practices.
• Ensure understanding of employment and safety laws to stay compliant.
• Assist Operations in maintaining safety guidelines.
• Gain proficiency using security systems such as cameras and alarms.
• Maintain confidential records and communicate policies clearly.
