Oceanus Marine Technologies is seeking its first in-house People Operations Specialist to own and evolve our people foundations as we scale. You will shape strategy, systems, programs, and day-to-day operations with a scrappy, strategic mindset.

You will run payroll, manage benefits and compliance, and partner with brokers and providers. This role is on-site in El Segundo, CA, with a broad scope across the employee lifecycle and workplace operations.

Formación

• Experience across People Operations, HR Operations, or HR generalist work in a startup or lean team.
• Experience building new People processes or programs, not just administering established ones.
• Direct experience supporting both exempt and hourly employees.
• Hands-on payroll, benefits, lifecycle operations, and HR compliance.
• Strong knowledge of California employment requirements.
• Experience administering an HRIS; Rippling experience preferred.
• Track record turning manual processes into scalable systems.
• Ability to plan long-term and handle day-to-day operations.
• Good judgment and discretion with sensitive information.
• Curiosity about using tech, automation, and AI in People Operations.
• On-site availability at El Segundo locations.

Responsabilidades

• Own the People strategy, systems, programs, and day-to-day operations as the company scales.
• Design and launch foundational programs across performance management, leadership development, manager support, learning, and events.
• Oversee payroll and timekeeping for exempt and hourly employees and ensure accurate timecard reviews.
• Manage health benefits, 401(k), and compliance with outside counsel and providers.
