Job summary

Oceanus Marine Technologies is hiring its first in-house People Operations Specialist to own and evolve our People foundations as we scale. You’ll craft strategy, systems, and programs that create leverage for the business and employees.

You will implement end‑to‑end employee lifecycle processes, manage payroll and benefits, and ensure compliance while collaborating with brokers, providers, and outside counsel as needed. On-site work in El Segundo is required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience across People Operations, HR Operations, or HR generalist work in startup or lean teams.
• Experience building new People processes or programs, not only administering established ones.
• Hands-on experience with payroll, benefits, employee lifecycle operations, and HR compliance.

Responsibilities

• Own the People strategy, systems, programs, and day-to-day operations to scale the company.
• Design and launch foundational programs across performance management, leadership development, and employee events.
• Manage payroll, timekeeping, and benefits in partnership with brokers and providers.
• Own Rippling and connected People systems, building scalable resources and SOPs.
