Job summary

Centre for Effective Altruism is seeking an HR Associate to run the systems and operational side of People Operations for a distributed, international staff. You’ll own onboarding, contracts, expenses, payroll inputs, tax filings, and HR systems, with opportunities to modernize processes through automation and AI.

You’ll report to the HR Manager and help shape how we support staff across jurisdictions, including building an internal HR dashboard and compliance calendar to streamline workflows.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in operations, HR operations, or people operations.
• Strong attention to detail for payroll inputs and tax filings.
• Comfort with HRIS, payroll, and related systems.
• Interest in HR, employment compliance, and payroll.
• Experience building automations or workflows; AI familiarity welcomed.
• Willingness to handle administrative tasks and process improvements.
• Clear written communication across teams and stakeholders.
• Commitment to CEA’s mission and values.

Responsibilities

• Run onboarding end-to-end including documents and checks.
• Own payroll inputs collection and system setup; ensure accuracy.
• Administer contracts and onboarding/offboarding workflows.
• Maintain HRIS data and run reports.
• Produce monthly HR and finance reporting.
• Develop AI-enabled workflows for drafting and FAQs.
• Manage benefits administration and BD/operations liaison.
• Support policy updates and handbook maintenance.
