Job summary

La Raza Community Resource Center Inc is seeking a People Operations Coordinator to manage HR compliance, staff relations, onboarding, benefits, and volunteer lifecycle.

You will recruit and schedule ~50 volunteers, maintain records, and support policy implementation while partnering with the Chief of Staff. Fluency in English and Spanish is required; nonprofit experience is a plus. Hybrid in-office with some remote work after 90 days.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of hands-on HR experience across multiple HR functions (employee relations, onboarding, benefits, training, and organizational support).
• Nonprofit operations and volunteer coordination experience a plus.
• Fluent in English and Spanish (written and spoken).
• Experience supporting or managing HRIS systems and staff scheduling software.
• Able to train, present, and facilitate meetings with diverse groups.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws.
• Oversee onboarding, personnel files, and benefits administration.
• Maintain digital and physical personnel records with accuracy.
• Provide HR data/reports to leadership on request.
